CycloDS Evolution is a media cartridge for the Nintendo DS that allows the playing of ROM files and emulators, as well as home-brew software and media. The cartridge can be further enhanced with the addition of the EZ-Flash company's 3-in-1 device, which adds to the DS's system memory for smoother video playback as well as allowing Game Boy Advance ROM files to be played. Download the latest version of the CycloDS Evolution firmware from the site in the Resources section. Double-click to unzip.
Step 2
Insert the MicroSD card for your CycloDS Evolution into the MicroSD reader included with the cartridge. Connect the reader to your computer via USB and use "My Computer" or "Finder" to navigate to the card's root directory, which will display as "No Name" or "CycloDS."
Step 3
Copy the unzipped file "update.EVO" to the root directory of your MicroSD card. Eject and remove the card and disconnect it from the MicroSD reader.
Step 4
Place your MicroSD card in the slot of CycloDS Evolution. Insert the card into your Nintendo DS and turn the system on.
Step 5
Select "CycloDS Evolution" from the main menu of your Nintendo DS. Choose "OK" to update the firmware to the latest version, which includes full support for EZ-Flash 3-in-1 by default. Do not switch the system off or remove the card until the main menu is displayed.
Step 6
Turn the system off and insert EZ-Flash 3-in-1 into the GBA slot of your Nintendo DS. Turn the system back on and choose "CycloDS Evolution" to boot your card with added EZ-Flash 3-in-1 support for all video, audio and compatible home-brew applications.
