Step
1Insert a MicroSD card into the adapter that came with the R4 and connect it into your PC's USB port. When the MicroSD card loads, create a folder named "Music" and another folder named "Videos." You will put your music and video files in these two folders.

Step
2Download the Moonshell homebrew software from the Internet. Double-click the zip file and follow the on-screen instructions install Moonshell to the MicroSD card. Note that the Moonshell application allows you to run MP3 files and video files on your Nintendo DS.

Step
3Search for a DPG video encoder so you can encode video files into the DPG format. Once you've downloaded and installed the video encoder, convert the videos that you want to put onto your DS into the DPG format. Note that the Moonshell program can only play DPG video files.

Step
4Drag the MP3s to the "Music" folder and the videos to the "Videos" folder on the MicroSD card. When you have loaded all your music and videos, you can put the MicroSD card back into the flash kit and insert it into the Nintendo DS.

Step
5Turn on your Nintendo DS and select "Multimedia". This step will start the Moonshell program. You can now select the music or video you want to play.
